CIT-IN 2024 ; Important Announcment on Change of Location
Details of the relocation are in the following announcement from the Citroen Car Club of Tasmania, received 22/5/2023.
As Chair of the Tasmanian Cit-In committee, I am e-mailing you all to advise that due to events beyond the Tas Cit-In Committee's control, we have had to make the uncomfortable decision to relocate the 2024 Tasmanian Cit-In event. Fortunately, we have been able to secure a new location at Devonport on the Tasmanian North West Coast and have booked the recently opened luxury Accor Novotel, situated on the banks of the scenic Mersey River opposite the East Devonport Spirit Ferry terminal.
The previously advised dates of 22nd -25th of March 2024 will still apply so your members will not need to change your Spirit of Tasmania bookings.
The Novotel is centrally located in this small coastal city with the adjacent Paranaple Centre also booked to host our Saturday and Sunday evening dining activities and a nearby riverside park providing plenty of areas for a show and shine and relaxing early morning riverside walks to the Bluff lighthouse. Novotel have reserved 70 rooms in their 180 room complex starting from $185.00 for Cit-In registrants. They will shortly provide us with a link which includes a booking code for your members to receive the discounted room rate. ( Do not book Novotel accommodation until the link is provided to ensure the discount applies). We also have the Nearby Gateway Motel offering availability of rooms within easy walking distance of the Paranaple function Centre and the Novotel.
Devonport offers a number of attractions, being the centre of Tasmania's North West Coast and gateway to the rich agricultural hinterland including Sheffield, Gunn's Plains and Cradle Mountain to the South. Mole Creek , Deloraine and Tamar wine region to the East and Penguin, Burnie and Table Cape to the West.
We are aware approximately 50+ Cit-In participants have already booked accommodation at St Helens. These bookings are fully refundable and we encourage people to cancel their bookings at Panorama or other locations in St Helens and when advised rebook in Devonport at either the Novotel, Gateway Motel or some of the other accommodation venues soon to be suggested with their links uploaded to our new website.
We will soon have a new flyer uploaded to our website notifying all details of the relocated 2024 Cit-In event.
Graeme Vaughan will still run the popular Pre Cit-In 8 day tour commencing on the 14th of March and provide an interesting anti-clockwise tour of Tasmania, arriving at Devonport on Friday 22nd March 2024 ready to commence the Cit-In weekend festivities.
