Club Citroen South Australia

This is the home page of the longest established and largest Citroën club in South Australia – dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and above all else, the appreciation and enjoyment of all Citroën vehicles – any model, any age, old or new.

The Club has approximately 80 members. Members and visitors attend monthly meetings, held at 8.00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month (except January) at the "Lounge", City of Burnside Civic Centre. Meetings include regular guest speakers and illustrated presentations, technical and social presentations, and a good deal of 'bonhomie'. In addition to holding monthly meetings, Club members participate in regular Club runs, technical afternoons and social events.

A beneficial service to owners of vehicles manufactured prior to 1979 is the Club's assistance with the SA Conditional Registration Scheme for Historic, Prescribed Left Hand Drive and Street Rod Vehicles.

The Club is pleased to assist with any enquiry – in the first instance via Colin Carati, the Club Secretary: or 0411 156185

Visitors and new members are always welcome…simply come along to one of our meetings or runs and introduce yourself!

Its often said that 2CVs are versatile (amongst less flattering comments !). This was put to the test on a 'slightly' wet June afternoon, when CCSA drove out to the Colllingrove HillClimb, a much revered motorsport venue in SA. We mainly went to spectate at a motorsport event on that day, enjoy some lunch and each others company. But when the chance came to have a go up the Hill, a bunch of us seized the opportunity ..... and it was an absolute hoot !

We all know McLaren Vale for its wineries, but Kuitpo ? Its known mainly for its forest areas, but just east of the Vale are rolling hillsides covered with picturesque vineyards and wineries. One of these, Coates, provided a relaxing lunch venue after boulevarding along some of the local backroads. Somewhere in the background, I swear we could hear a piano accordion ....

Every year Citroen Clubs around Australia head for a "Cit-In" for an annual meeting. CCSA sent a strong contingent in 2022, after a long COVID induced hiatus. There were plenty of stories, tall and true from the trip there and back !

The Club year starts every February with a Birthday bash for Andre Citroen (born 5th Feb 1878). And what better place to celebrate it than at the Old Gum Tree Reserve, Glenelg, the proclamation (birth) site of the colony of SA ! Great turnout, great day !!

A fabulous turn out today for our Spring Club Run to Strathalbyn. We had a raft of Ducks ( big group of 2CVs ie 7), a pair of Deesses, a pair of Tractions, a pair of C4’s, a C5, a Pluriel, and as a complete ring-in, a Thunderbird !! A banquet BYO lunch on the lawns next to the Angas River in Strathalbyn then a visit to Gilbert’s Motor museum . All in all , a truly great day in perfect spring weather.

Auburn, SA, was the place to be on 12-14th Septrember, with the town hosting the inaugural FrenchFest, joined by the French Car clubs of SA turning on the All French Car Day on the Sunday. CCSA was there in strength, with 40 at a dinner on the Saturday night, and many at the show and shine the following (very windy and wet !) day. CCSA member John Beswick's 'lacey' 2CV took out the People's Choice and Ted Newing won Best Modern. Congratulations to all concerned.

Every year, CCSA reviews the year, elects a new Committee and (if warranted !) congratulates itself at the Annual General Meeting. This year is no exception. It saw the Club grow to its largest membership ever, and an impressive series of events and activities. A new(ish) Committee was established and we expect lofty outcomes for 2021-22.
